Dennis Battistella was the premier hurdler at Jefferson during the start of the new century. He is the only hurdler to ever medal at the D2 State Finals in both the 110m High Hurdles and the 300m Hurdles. Dennis finished 6th in the 110's in 15.44 seconds and 8th in the 300m hurdles in 40.14 seconds. Dennis at one time held the 300m hurdles school record at 39.9 seconds. He also holds the 200m dash school record at 22.5 seconds. Dennis went on to run in college at Lake Superior State.
