Lori Hoscheit - 1975
Lori Hoscheit was a state medallist in the shot put in 1974 and in 1975. In fact, Lori is the first person from Jefferson High School to be All-State in any sport. In 1974 Lori took the 5th place medal at the Class A-B State Finals with a throw of 36' 6". In 1975, the state went to separate classes for the state finals and she took 6th place at the Class B State Finals with a throw of 35' 9.5". When Lori threw they used an 8 pound shot and she holds the school record at 39' 7". Nobody will ever break that record, because in the 1980's girls' track and field changed to the 4 kilogram shot put which converts to 8 lbs. and 13 ounces. Lori's throws are still included in the "Top Ten" lists located on the "Records" page, because of her excellence in the event.
